ISA Standards gurus Ted Schnaare and Steve Brown were among the 15 US National Committee (USNC) experts who received the prestigious International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) 1906 Award for 2011.
Schnaare’s contributions boost process efficiency as he convenes IEC TC31/WG30, Equipment processing sealing; provides significant input for the intrinsic safety standards; and records Maintenance Team 60079-11 decisions. As Chair of ISA12, Electrical equipment for hazardous locations; Schnaare is also a member of the ISA Standards and Practices Department Board and serves as Technical Advisor for the ISA-administered SC31G US Technical Advisory Group (TAG), Intrinsically-safe apparatus.
