5 Reasons to Attend the 2024 ISA Automation Summit & Expo

ISA-ASE-2024-blog-image_334x439The International Society of Automation (ISA) is gearing up to host the 2024 ISA Automation Summit & Expo (ASE) this fall in Charleston, SC. The automation event of the year will bring hundreds of automation professionals to the area when it takes place 30 September – 3 October 2024.

Many globally recognized experts in industrial automation are slated to speak during the conference portion of the event (2 October 2024 – 3 October 2024). There are so many great reasons to attend ASE this year — in addition to the technical conference, the event also features an exhibition and opportunities for training. Attendees can network, celebrate and recognize the accomplishments of their peers.

ASE 2024 is packed with experiences to get excited about, and we're highlighting just a few in this blog post. Read on for our top five reasons to visit Charleston, SC this fall for the automation event of the year.

1. Three Conference Tracks: Digital Transformation, Cybersecurity and Career Skills

Events and sessions addressing all three tracks — digital transformation, cybersecurity and career skills — will occur simultaneously throughout the two-day conference portion, ensuring that all attendees have a full schedule of activities.

2. Keynote Sessions by Prominent Speakers

The keynote sessions will highlight primary themes within the conference tracks: advancements in digital transformation and new threats in OT cybersecurity.

Houston will speak on the impact of digital transformation and automation on space exploration.

Keynote for 3 October

James Clark - 100px"Data Security in Generating Renewable Energy"

James Clark, vice president of  information technology, South Jersey Industries Information Security 

James will present a success story on delivering a secure solution allowing data to traverse OT to IT to gain central visibility across an entire portfolio of farms generating renewable energy.  It is a very challenging project designed from the ground up, emphasizing cybersecurity for safety and compliance.

3. Automation Training Opportunities

ISA’s two most in-demand certification courses on industrial cybersecurity, IC32 and IC33, will be offered on-site at this event. The training will take place 30 September - 1 October. Attendees can learn more and secure their spots here.

4. ISA Honors and Awards Gala

The ISA Honors and Awards Gala will be held on 2 October at the Patriot's Point Naval and Maritime Museum on the flight deck of the USS Yorktown, a retired US WWII aircraft carrier docked in the Charleston Harbor. ISA will recognize and honor this year's Celebrating Excellence award recipients. Tickets are required for this formal awards ceremony and dinner.

5. Networking Opportunities

Attendees of ASE 2024 will have a chance to participate in a variety of networking events included in the conference ticket, including the Young Professionals social, a welcome reception and breaks with exhibitors between conference sessions.
