ISA Delivers Value with New Digital Transformation Training Series

What exactly does digital transformation mean, and how can businesses utilize technologies to effectively improve processes? Digital transformation is the integration and adoption of digital technology into all areas of a business to improve processes for business and customer values. With this goal in mind, digital transformation efforts require a cultural shift in an organization as every employee learns new, improved ways to do their job successfully. Adopting a digital transformation mindset allows companies to reimagine themselves from the inside out and elevate their processes through new and emerging technologies. Most digital transformation initiatives must start at the top with the appropriate budget and collaboration, but once in practice can help optimize processes through improved operational efficiency.

To solve problems more efficiently using digital transformation technologies, it is important that all employees from the C-suite down to the engineers and technicians on the plant floor understand how these digital transformation technologies work. This effort starts with training in the basic concepts of digital transformation.

New from ISA, the Digital Transformation Training Series features a set of courses focused on emerging technologies and developments in the digital transformation space. You can use these courses to increase your foundational knowledge and skills in the rapidly evolving technological landscape and understand how this knowledge can be applied across the chemical, manufacturing, oil and gas, and various other fields within the automation industry.

Starting with the first topic on the industrial internet of things (IIoT), each course addresses a unique area of digital transformation and provides an overview of the technology, fundamentals, key decision points, business use cases, and advanced application exercises. No prerequisites are required, and courses can be completed in either a classroom or self-paced, modular format.

By learning the basic concepts of the internet of things (IoT) and how these underlying technologies have evolved, you will learn how these technologies can be applied to industrial applications.

Course Benefits:

  • Increase your understanding of the IoT and learn how it is different from IIoT
  • Understand the supporting technologies of IIoT
  • Review actual applications of IIoT
  • Consider the cost/benefits and return on investment (ROI) of IIoT projects

Be on the lookout for more topics in the Digital Transformation training series coming soon from ISA, centered on big data/data management, data visualization/digital twins, and more. To learn more, please visit the Digital Transformation Training Series website.

To become the recognized leader in automation and control education, ISA provides training, certifications, and publications to prepare the workforce to address technology changes and industry challenges in the most flexible and relevant ways.
