How to Validate Your Knowledge of the ISA-95/IEC 62264 Standards Framework

The ISA-95/IEC 62264 standards framework for integrating enterprise and control systems is considered foundational to modern manufacturing, even within the context of the arrival of Industry 4.0 and smart manufacturing. The framework outlines building a communication interface among various levels of control as described in the Purdue model for network segmentation in industrial control systems.

Control system engineers and managers, system integrators, plant managers and other industrial automation professionals now have an opportunity to sign up for a new certificate program that offers a comprehensive overview of the ISA-95/IEC 62264 standards framework.

What You'll Learn in the ISA-95/IEC 62264 Enterprise-Control System Integration (E-CSI) Fundamentals Certificate Program

The new program, developed by the International Society of Automation (ISA), allows automation professionals to confirm and showcase their understanding of this important framework. Leveraging the ISA-95/IEC 62264 standards, the curriculum provides students with the knowledge needed to define business activities and the flow of information between flexible shop-floor execution systems and sophisticated enterprise planning (ERP) systems. It also defines and explores key IT terminology to help generate productive collaboration among teams of manufacturing personnel and IT personnel working on integration projects.

How to Earn the Certificate

There are no prerequisites. To earn the ISA-95/IEC 62264 E-CSI Fundamentals Specialist certificate, students must successfully complete the ISA-95/IEC 62264 Enterprise-Control System Integration (E-CSI) Fundamentals training course, which is available in several formats: in-person in a classroom setting, an instructor-guided online course, a self-paced modular course and a virtual classroom course. Students must also pass a multiple-choice exam to be granted a certificate.

The certificate also includes the ISA-95/IEC 62264 E-CSI Fundamentals Specialist badge, which students can share with their professional networks. The badge can be a great way to highlight professional expertise on social media and/or to employers.
