Next week, 7-9 November 2022, the International Society of Automation (ISA) will be holding its first annual ISA Automation & Leadership Conference (ALC). Have you registered yet? Read on to learn more about this exciting event!
This year’s hybrid ALC, being held at the Galveston Island Convention Center in Galveston, TX, US, as well as virtually, is a combination of ISA’s leadership conference and two days of technical presentations on trending industry topics, from cybersecurity, to smart manufacturing, to process automation and more. Between networking with ISA leaders and attending sessions from subject matter experts all around the world, you do not want to miss out on THE automation conference of the year!
Over the span of the conference’s three days, ALC will host a variety of special events, including:
- Keynote Speakers:
- Day 1, 8 November: Dr. Lauren Goodwin, Chief Information Officer at the Johnson Space Center and White Sands Test Facility (WSTF) for NASA, will be discussing leading the next steps in space to open up this year's ALC conference. As an automation leader, Dr. Goodwin is recognized as one of the first to introduce automation expertise within data analytics, accelerating her global influence in the tech industry. In addition, Dr. Goodwin is also responsible for enabling the technology, digital transformation, and cybersecurity of NASA’s missions for human space flight.
- Day 2, 9 November: Captain Keith Donohue, Deputy Sector Commander, US Coast Guard Houston-Galveston, will be doing a talk on maritime cybersecurity. Join Capt. Donohue as he discusses the US Coast Guard's role in working with the US oil and gas industry to keep the coastal area cybersecure.
- Cybersecurity Protectathon Training: This two-day workshop will cover phases of the industrial automation and control system (IACS) cybersecurity lifecycle (as defined in ISA/IEC 62443-1-1), with particular focus on the defensive strategies for the operational technology (OT) environment. Please note that there is an additional charge for this event, but those can feel free to register for this event alone. You won't want to miss one of ISA's most hands-on trainings presented live.
- Boots and Bubbly—The 2022 ISA Honors and Awards Gala: On 8 November at the Bryan Museum in Galveston, TX, come celebrate the achievements and contributions of our members, sections, and divisions, with our annual gala festivity.
- FREE ISA100 Wireless Training Day: Participants will learn the basics and implementation of the ISA100 Wireless technology. Those who complete the training will be eligible to earn an ISA100 Wireless Compliance Institute (WCI) Training Certificate. Use the code ISA100 during your registration for this free opportunity.
