The International Society of Automation (ISA) is proud to be the professional home of thousands of members around the world — and we are honored to give back to the global automation community as a whole through standards and knowledge-sharing. With input from ISA Connect, events and countless meetings and feedback forms, we are constantly learning more about what ISA means to automation professionals and how ISA can best serve them. We want to ensure we're fulfilling our vision, mission and values far into the future.
In this post, we're sharing a few samples of feedback testimonials we've collected from the automation community. We hope it serves as an inspiration and a reminder of the amazing impact we can have together.
And if you aren't yet a member of ISA, there is still time to join now (before 31 December 2024) and receive the rest of 2024 free!
Automation Professionals Say...
- “My ISA journey has enriched me with great technical content, provided unique leadership opportunities and enabled me to make an impact on fellow professionals, college students and major technical powerhouse entities.”
- “I can’t think of another organization that has more to offer the global automation community.”
- “What I find the most valuable as a member is the direct exposure to this closely knitted community of ISA where I can work, interact with, collaborate with and learn so much from the automation professionals across the world who share the same passion. ... You don't get a lot of opportunities in the world or platforms in the world to do that.”
- “Being an ISA member gives me the opportunity to work with many professionals within the industry, my industry or other industries. If I have a need or I have a question, generally, I can reach out to peers who understand the problem or who have resolved the issue. It's really a good collaboration effort or a networking opportunity to link my career aspirations, as well as an understanding of what I am going through and a community that I could resonate and solve problems with. It's very helpful community for me as I mature in my professional career.”
- “This is not just any automation community; this is THE automation community that produces the standards that we all live and work by.”
- “The number one thing that I know will be in my future as an automation professional will be the opportunity to continue learning and continue to be curious. That has guided my career so far. That’s what brought me from a controls engineer, to being involved more in ISA, to becoming a project manager — because I was curious about the software that I was using as a controls engineer and how the decisions were made about what features to put in software. Now, as a project manager, I’ve become very curious about how the decisions that I make in my everyday job can impact a lot of people. As someone working in automation, I think that’s something that we all have in common. We all are enabling the things that our society needs, such as manufacturing and energy. I think that deciding to follow this curiosity is definitely in my future. I would love to continue learning and make higher and higher levels of decisions that will impact more people. ISA will be a guiding touchstone throughout that.”
